We collect the information we need to operate FlamingText and our related products, provide user accounts, save your work, process purchases, understand how our services are used, prevent abuse and show advertising.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not receive or store your credit or debit card number; payments are processed by PayPal.
Most graphics are generated temporarily and are normally removed within about two hours. Content that you choose to save or share may be retained for longer and may be publicly accessible to anyone who has its URL.
We use Google services including Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Google Workspace and Google Sign-In. We also support sign-in using services such as Apple and Facebook. Some information is therefore processed outside Australia.
This is only a summary. The full Privacy Policy below explains our practices in more detail.
This Privacy Policy explains how FlamingText.com Pty Ltd ("FlamingText", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information.
It applies to FlamingText.com and our related websites, applications and services, including products such as Creator.me and AddText (collectively, the "Services").
We operate a number of related products using common infrastructure, accounts and storage. Information and content associated with your account may therefore be available to you across more than one FlamingText product.
The information we collect depends on how you use our Services. It may include:
We do not require your gender or date or year of birth in order to create an ordinary FlamingText account.
Our web servers receive an IP address when a device connects to them. Before IP addresses are written to our normal web server logs, we remove the final portion of the IP address so that the complete IP address is not retained in those logs.
Our normal web server logs are generally retained for approximately 10 days. We use these logs for purposes such as operating the Services, troubleshooting problems, security, detecting abuse and understanding traffic patterns.
Third-party services used on our websites, including Google services, may independently receive IP addresses, cookies, identifiers and other technical information in accordance with their own privacy practices. Our truncation of IP addresses in FlamingText's own server logs does not control information independently collected by those third parties.
Many FlamingText services can be used without signing in.
Graphics generated through our Services are normally stored temporarily for up to approximately two hours so that they can be displayed, downloaded or used by the person creating them.
These temporary graphics may be accessible to anyone who knows their URL. They should therefore be treated as unlisted rather than private. You should not place confidential or sensitive personal information in a graphic if you do not want someone with access to its URL to see it.
Some Services allow you to save a graphic or project for longer-term use. Saved content may be retained until you delete it, request its deletion, or it is otherwise removed in accordance with our retention practices.
Some saved or shared content is publicly accessible. For example, an image may be available to anyone who has its URL even though it is not displayed in a public gallery or search listing.
Some Services may create or retain images without associating the image with the account of the person who created it. For example, a publicly shared image may not necessarily contain information in our systems identifying which account created it, even where the creator was signed in at the time.
FlamingText operates related products using a common account and storage system.
Content that you deliberately save to your account through one FlamingText product may be available to you through another FlamingText product. For example, a logo saved using FlamingText may be available for you to use through Creator.me.
This allows you to use your account, saved graphics and projects across our Services without having to create separate copies or separate accounts for each product.
Where our Services allow you to upload images, photographs, fonts or other files, we collect and store those files as necessary to provide the relevant feature.
Uploaded material may itself contain personal information. You should only upload material that you are entitled to use and that you are comfortable having stored as part of the relevant project or account.
Uploaded content associated with saved projects may be retained until the project or content is deleted, you request its deletion, or we otherwise no longer need to retain it.
Particular types of material, such as licensed font software, may be subject to additional storage, licence or deletion rules.
We may use personal information to:
In addition to third-party analytics services, FlamingText maintains its own analytics information about use of the Services.
This may include information such as pages viewed, URLs, referrers, browser and device information, approximate location or country, account or user identifiers where applicable, and activity such as use of particular features or generation of graphics.
We use this information to understand traffic and usage trends, operate and improve our products, diagnose problems, plan capacity and detect abuse.
Detailed analytics information is retained while it remains reasonably necessary for these purposes. We may retain aggregated or de-identified statistics for longer periods where they no longer identify an individual user.
We use cookies, local storage and similar browser technologies to operate our Services and remember information between requests or visits.
For example, we may use these technologies to:
Third parties, including Google, may also place or read cookies, use browser storage, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers in connection with analytics and advertising on our Services.
You can control cookies and browser storage using your browser settings, although blocking technologies that are necessary for operation of the Services may cause some features not to work correctly.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our Services, including information about traffic, pages viewed, devices and interactions with our websites.
Google Analytics uses cookies and other identifiers to measure use of websites and applications. Google may process information collected through Google Analytics on infrastructure outside Australia.
We also retain some of our own analytics information independently of Google Analytics, as described above.
We use Google AdSense to display advertising on some of our Services.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies and other technologies to serve advertisements based on a user's visits to our Services and, where permitted, visits to other websites or applications.
Google and its advertising partners may place and read cookies on your browser or use web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers to collect information as a result of advertisements being served through our Services.
Depending on your location and the choices available to you, advertisements may be personalised or non-personalised.
Where required by applicable law, we use consent and privacy controls for advertising and related cookies or device storage. You can also use privacy and advertising controls made available by Google and your browser or device.
Payments are processed using PayPal or other payment services that we may make available.
FlamingText does not receive or store your credit or debit card number. Payment credentials are provided directly to the payment provider.
We do receive and retain information necessary to record and support a transaction. This may include your name or email address, payment amount, transaction date, transaction identifier and information about the product or licence purchased.
We use transaction information to provide purchased services and licences, respond to customer enquiries, prevent fraud, deal with refunds or payment disputes, and comply with accounting and tax obligations.
We use Google Workspace, including Gmail, to provide our business email services. Emails that you send to us, including support enquiries, may therefore be processed and stored using Google's systems.
We use contact information to respond to communications and provide service-related messages.
We may also use contact details to communicate with users about FlamingText products, features or services where permitted by applicable law. Marketing communications will include a way to unsubscribe or otherwise opt out where required.
Opting out of marketing messages does not prevent us from sending messages that are necessary to operate your account, complete a transaction, respond to you or provide important service or legal information.
We may allow you to create or access an account using services such as Google, Apple or Facebook.
If you choose to use a third-party sign-in service, that provider may give us information needed to identify and authenticate your account, such as your name, email address and an account identifier, depending on the provider and the permissions you choose.
The sign-in provider will also process information about your use of its authentication service under its own privacy policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We may disclose or make personal information available to third parties where reasonably necessary to operate our Services, including:
We may also share aggregated or de-identified statistical information that does not identify individual users.
FlamingText is an Australian company, but our Services operate internationally and some of the systems and service providers we use are located outside Australia.
Personal information may therefore be stored, processed or disclosed in countries including the United States, Germany, France and Canada, as well as other countries in which our service providers operate infrastructure.
For example, we use overseas hosting infrastructure, including providers such as Hetzner and OVHcloud, and international services provided by Google, PayPal, Apple and Meta/Facebook.
The privacy and data protection laws applying in another country may differ from Australian law.
We retain different types of information for different periods depending on why we need it.
Information deleted from our active systems may remain for a period in backups until those backups are overwritten or expire in the ordinary course of our backup processes.
You may ask us to delete your account and associated personal information.
When an account is marked for deletion, we disable the account and periodically remove information associated with it from our active systems.
Deletion may not be immediate. Information may remain temporarily in backups, and we may retain particular records where reasonably necessary or required for legal, accounting, taxation, security, fraud prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.
Public or shared content that is not associated with your account may not automatically be identified or deleted when your account is deleted. If you want particular public or shared content removed, please provide us with sufficient information, such as its URL, to identify it.
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
These measures include the use of encrypted connections for our websites and services, access controls and other security measures appropriate to the nature of our systems.
No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use a strong password and take reasonable precautions to protect access to your account.
You may contact us to request access to personal information that we hold about you or to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
We may need to verify your identity before providing access to or changing account information.
There may be circumstances in which applicable law allows or requires us to refuse access or correction. If this occurs, we will explain our decision where required by law.
Depending on the Service and your location, you may be able to:
Our Services are general-purpose graphics and design services and are not specifically directed at children.
We do not require users to provide their gender, date of birth or year of birth as part of ordinary account registration.
If we become aware that personal information relating to a child requires particular handling or deletion under applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to address that requirement.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, technology, business practices or legal obligations.
The current version and its last-updated date will be published on our website.
If you have a question, concern or complaint about how FlamingText handles personal information, please contact us through our Contact Us page.
Please provide enough information for us to understand the issue and, where appropriate, identify the relevant account, transaction or content.
We will review privacy complaints and respond within a reasonable period. We may contact you for additional information if necessary to investigate the matter.
If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy complaint, you may have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or another privacy regulator that has jurisdiction over your complaint.
